Ergon Energy has undertaken a review of its facilities that service communities across Queensland and adopted a Master Planning strategy developed by Lend Lease Design to provide a contemporary working environment for their staff and develop better efficiencies for both the operational and delivery components of their business.

The Mackay Hub Facility represents the consolidation of their city administrative functions with their field operations at the Ness Street Depot to create a new mixed-use campus style development.

Lend Lease Design in collaboration with Architectus have designed a single integrated facility that embodies an open, productive and socially inclusive workplace. At the heart of the facility is the Eco-Link, a double-height circulation and gathering space that is conceived as a vibrant social centre. A commitment to sustainability is expressed in the building’s passive and active systems including through the use of solar screens, mixed-mode ventilation, thermal chimneys and many other features.
