Ian Davidson

Ian joined Architectus as Associate Director in 2010, bringing with him extensive experience in design leadership of high profile government, institutional and retail projects including healthcare, justice, education and neighbourhood centre buildings. Ian is a highly skilled designer with a thorough knowledge of construction processes and an outstanding ability to solve problems, resulting in the successful delivery of numerous major projects.

As former Design Director of NHArchitecture, Ian was a key member of the design team for New Zealand's largest retail and entertainment complex, Sylvia Park. He was also the Design Director for Plenty Valley; a new neighbourhood and activity centre in Melbourne.

Ian's skills in design leadership are enhanced by his ability to consistently deliver high quality design whilst working within tight budgets, along with his astute awareness of the pragmatic constraints placed on architects by the realities of the construction industry. His roles include design, from project conception through to design development, team co-ordination and client liaison.
