The Western Sydney Parklands Trust commissioned Architectus to provide planning and urban design services for a new retail centre near Blacktown.
The Architectus Master Plan is informed by the existing natural and cultural attributes of the Baima Lake region and creates a benchmark for ecological, creative, innovative, sensitive and progressive tourist development.
Stretching 27 km from Quakers Hill to Leppington and comprising 5500 hectares, the Western Sydney Parklands is set to be one of the biggest urban parklands in the world.
The client’s brief was to achieve better use of the existing spaces, to provide new connections to the garden, and to improve the airflow without air conditioning.
Architectus, in association with LMN and FJMT, formed the international design team tasked with delivering the convention, exhibition and entertainment centre facility design for VeNuSW.
Architectus, in association with MPH Architects – Lead Principal Consultant, has created an iconic education destination and new identity for South Australian TAFE.
The St Lucia House re-addresses the potential of indoor-outdoor space; a contemporary evolution of subtropical housing types in which the verandah is the prime living space.
Located on a gateway site between the low rise buildings of Sydney Olympic Park and the bicentennial Parklands, the building reflects the very nature of its environment with its elegant spiralling quality bringing a dynamic of movement enhanced by the ever changing light conditions that gently articulate the glass facade.
Architectus successfully designed and delivered a new fit-out of an existing 1990’s commercial floor-plate including three new Courtrooms, Members' Chambers, Registry and associated offices within 6 weeks of engagement.
The inspiration for this house came from spatial qualities, materials and craft reflecting those histories and sensibilities, and the owners’ love and knowledge of the local indigenous subtropical landscape of this semi-rural area.
